Menu Cow calendar

In the Cow calendar menu the attention is focused on the actual status per cow. This is presented clearly on the main screen.

Milk can also be separated per cow. Depending on the milk measuring system, this is reported in the milking parlour. Illness and treatment can be input and animals can be separated after being milked, on the condition that a selection gate is present.

Milk Menu

The Milk menu shows the data monitored in the milking parlour by the Unipuls milk measuring system. Data such as milk yield, conductivity, not only per day, but also over the whole lactation period, are clearly shown on graphs and tables.

Menu Feed

In the Feed menu the feed data can be input per cow. You can increase and decrease the daily ration with the help of a step-by-step program. You can also calculate how much concentrate an animal needs in relation to the Milk yield. The distribution of concentrate can take place in the feeding stations as well as in the milking parlour. The control of a calf drinking automaton also falls under this.

Activity Menu

In the case of Actometers being available, the Activity menu shows a graphic development of the activity of the cow. In addition, cow data is shown which is important for a correct interpretation of the graph

Cow Menu

In the cow menu you can input specific data of a cow, such as name, birth date, racial code, production group, Lactation number, Actometer number, father, mother etc

Survey Menu

In the survey menu you can make surveys of data in relation to the herd, calendar, feed, milking, illness, cow card and deviations. In addition, you can bring together various data on graphs so you are able to make the right management decisions

Activity Monitoring

Actometer counts every step

A good heat monitoring is important to determine the right timing for insemination. The calving interval will therefore improve considerably. The savings you will thus make, will rapidly exceed the investment made for the Actometer.

This is the reason why PEARSON have a system that observes the activity of your cows day and night and helps the cattle breeder to determine the correct timing for insemination.

A cow in heat shows a higher activity rate during a short or longer period. Now and then this increase in activity only occurs during the night, making it almost impossible for you to observe the incident. The PEARSON Actometer is hereby a practical expedient.

Actometer

Every cow that has calved, is fitted with an Actometer around the foreleg. The transponder records the movements of the cow. The data is read after every milking and deviations exceeding the adjusted upper or lower limit are mentioned on the parlour keyboard. A deviations

list is automatically printed after every milking and draws your attention to cows who are possibly in heat or are ill.

CERES Cow Management

The Actometer is linked to the Cow Management Windows program. This menu offers you information about the whole herd. By linking the Actometer to this, you have all information together and you have at your disposal a simple and effective means of controlling your herd

Conductivity Sensoring

Conductivity Measuring

The PEARSON conductivity Sensors examine milk flowing through the meter and can indicate mastitus before it occurs, helping you to monitor the health of the udder.

Commander Crowd Gate

Commander Crowd Gate photo

The PEARSON Commander Crowd gate is a combination of a backing gate and scraping system. The gate moves the cows forward towards the parlour entrance in a smooth motion.

Once the gate reaches its maximum point it changes over, on the return back to its parking position it scrapes the collecting yard leaving it clean for the next milking.

Voyager Crowd Gate

With the PEARSON crowd gate, cows can easily be brought toward the parlour in groups.

Once one group has been brought through the parlour, the gate lifts up and travels over the cows to the back of the collection yard and brings up the next group of cows.

This is suitable for farms that have herds larger than the collection area behind the parlour.

Feed Transport Systems

Cow Feed Transport Systems photo

The PEARSON Auger system contains a 90 mm outer sleeve and a 70 mm inner spiral this allows it to carry nuts and mixed ration.

A motor is mounted at each side of the parlour at the ends of the auger pipe pulling the nuts from the bin, this eliminates any drop down boxes or corner gear boxes needed.

Feed Manager Systems

Experience gained with feeding routines in the parlour, has strongly influenced this complex design of manger partition and trough.

The manger trough which has a specially angled front face for cows to lick against, ensures a quicker feed intake and the resultant improvement in performance

Out of Parlour Feed Systems

The control unit can be programmed for portion size, delay between portions, Number of feed stations, time and date. Since a cows natural feeding rhythm may not follow the conventional 24 hour day starting at midnight, the unit can be programmed to begin a 24 hour feeding cycle at any time , the control unit can also disable the feeding station prior to milking to encourage cows through the milking parlour

The feed station itself is of welded construction and the framework is then hot dipped galvanised. To this is added a stainless steel manger plan and a 12 volt auger feed dispenser.

All the components are designed for maximum corrosion protection which ensures an extended working life. A race is added to the unit to give cows some degree of protection while feeding.

In Parlour Feed Systems

This design coupled with modern materials and quality manufacturing, result in a product, second to none in the market place. Unlike many rivals, this feeder will not dribble feed when knocked by an animal, intentionally or otherwise, therefore protective barriers are not necessary to install. The feeder will give many years of trouble free performance and can be coupled with an automatic identification system any time in the future.

This low level concept is an advantage when the feed hopper needs to be refilled manually or by an auger system, as the height from the ground to the top of the hopper when installed, can be as low as 1.85 meters (approx. 6'0").

This low level design is also an advantage when the feeders need to be installed in a lean-to building which may have one very low side. This long low-level design also prevents some heifers from jumping up into the manger trough whilst they become familiar with the milking process.

The large hopper can accommodate one hundred kilos of feed (depending on type) . The hopper comes complete with a vermin / bird proof removable lid.

Automatic Gate Systems

Automatic Exit Gates

To close the exit gate from any place within the operator's pit, pull the push / pull rod that runs the full length of the rump rail, the gate will automatically close and lock in the closed position. This simple device speeds up the overall milking time and reduces operator movement.

Wrap-Around™ Entry Gate

For the ultimate in parlour entry and cow control the PEARSON Wrap-Around Gate System provides all the necessary functions.

PEARSON incorporates a compressed air controlled wrap- around gate with its well known Manger entrance guide rail.

The guide rail indexes the cows into single file for faster loading and turns the last cow into position. Once the stainless steel rod is pushed in the pit, the gate folds out and pushes the cow into the perfect position for cluster application.

There is a blocking bar at the back of the gate section to prevent cows getting caught while the gate opens to load the next row.

Staggered Breast Rail

The Rapid Exit Breast Rail coupled with the straight-line design of the rump rail enables rapid entry and exit of cows into and out of their correct milking positions.

FEATURES:

Volume Wash Systems

A pressurised water system may be supplied into the parlour. This allows instant cleaning during milking, keeping the pit area cleaner and more hygienic.

Kerb Rails

Cow Kerb Rails photo

A PEARSON galvanized steel or stainless steel kerb rail will help the dairy farmer to keep the operators pit cleaner by reducing the amount of splash entering the pit.

Steel kerb rails will also allow the cow's hoofs and rear legs to be positioned closer to the operator, reducing the amount of reach required when applying the milking clusters.

PEARSON Unipuls – The future for professional farm management

The well proven innovative design of the "Tipping tray" milk meter is simplicity itself. Its unique design allows it to be trouble-free. Its modular principal of design enables other features and components to be added as finance or as circumstances require, developing the milking plant into the highest spec parlour that can be produced.

An electronic milk meter with automatic cluster remover is one of the most useful management systems that a modern dairy farmer can install. It relieves the pressure on the operator of having to be there to monitor the milk yield or to remove the clusters at the end of milking.

The milk yield is viewed as the cow is being milked and can be electronically directed to the CERES milk manager for viewing after milking.

CERES also give reports on high conductivity ( mastitis detector), Feed reports, activity reports to aid in producing maximum performance for minimum cost.
